Our cacao powder is single-origin, from Peru, by local family-owned farms with sustainable practices. It has a unique flavor, with mild fruit and floral notes that are indicative of the cacao beans grown in this region along the foothills of the Andes Mountains. 

Our original and flagship product, Black Velvet Cacao, is an ultra-alkalized cacao powder (also known as black cocoa). It's cacao powder that's further alkalized (beyond the typical alkalized cacao powder), to produce an intense color, and a deepened chocolatey flavor without the acidity. This is the secret to a super dark, and in some cases, black appearance to chocolate baked goods, such as a cookies-and-cream type of cookie.
